This scene was painted near Dent in North Yorkshire. To me the scene captures all the signature characteristics of the North Yorkshire area - the babbling brook, hanging mists over the hills and of course the total peace and tranquillity.
One of my favourite things to catch in paint is water especially when the nature of the water changes so quickly over a distance of a few feet - one minute a still mill pond, the next churned up by rocks and stones, reminding you that the water is actually flowing!
